Job Summary

The Turner College of Business at Columbus State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Assistant Director of the Butler Center. The mission of the Butler Center is to facilitate, coordinate, and be a focal point of the Turner College of Business’ regional economic research and development activities. The center currently provides applied economic and business research to local and state government, as well as to current and potential businesses looking to expand in the Chattahoochee Valley region.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing, continuing development, and marketing of the Center; assisting government agencies and firms with analysis of local, state, and national business and economic conditions; interacting with local, state, and national media with respect to economic conditions and policies in the region and serves as the spokesperson for the College on these matters; generating externally funded grants and projects which produce a portion of the Center’s budget; and all other related duties as assigned. The successful candidate will work as part of a team with the Director in fulfilling the Center’s duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field from an AACSB accredited institution; a demonstrated ability of successfully directing externally funded projects; a proven record of outstanding written and oral presentation skills; a proven track record of demonstrating impact; experience developing relationships with government agencies and private industry; possess the necessary knowledge, statistical, and economic underpinnings and communication skills necessary to oversee and communicate applied research and economic development projects; and possess exceptional communication and personal skills to interface with the foremost local, state, and national leaders in industries such as retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and tourism in support of the outreach efforts of the Turner College of Business.
